When I first walked into PortCity I was a little nervous. I had wanted to do this for many years but I wasn’t sure how it worked or how to start. Jimmy, the owner, showed me around the gym and told me how much he cared for it as a whole and what it meant to him. He said, “this is my family.” His wife, Amanda, took me in the cage gave me a crash course on Jiujitsu. She told me everything I needed to know and was ecstatic to have another woman to train with! I cherish that introduction now as I truly feel apart of a family outside of my own. Ive grown to know her as an awesome training partner and an amazing physical therapist who has recovered me from a many a hard training sessions. Jimmy has pushed me to focus and told me the hard truths I needed to hear to succeed. I’ve never known a group of individuals so dedicated to each other’s betterment and success. I’ve never been prouder to be apart of something and I look forward to where we go together. So try it out and become someone who strives for a challenge out of life! I can't say enough positive things about this gym and the incredible team behind it. My husband has been training here for some time now, and the support he’s received has been nothing short of outstanding. From day one, the coaches have been incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and motivating. They truly care about each individual’s growth, not just in terms of skill but also in personal development. My husband and I signed our son up at Port city to help him get extra energy out and build confidence. He is now taking all the available kids classes and his confidence is fantastic. The coaches are great, the environment and energy is very positive and welcoming. Everyone trains together and if you want to compete, they compete together too! I recommend port city to everyone!

My boys have been with Port City for 2 years. Every class they learn something new and ways to improve upon things they already knew. The Coaches are amazing and strive to have a personal bond with each kid that steps on the mat. Having a great coaching staff is so important but it doesn't stop there, so many of the adults who train there never hesitate to step on the mat and help out or work out something with the kids. I can't tell you the confidence and strength training at Port City MMA has introduced into my kids lives. If the thought has ever crossed your mind to sign your kids or even yourself up for MMA, you won't regret being apart of the Port City MMA family.
