I went here while doing a travel nursing assignment. I never had done any training before and decided to try it. I learned so much while I was there. The coaching is top tier. Everyone there was welcoming. I’ve been to many other gyms since and none of them can compare to the program at Slick Sluggers.
Excellent beginner/developmental boxing training for my 6 year old son. At this age, half the battle is the teaching and acceptance of real world discipline and maturity. Coach Islam - who expertly balances patience and discipline - has been able train my son, with incredible strides, in all of these facets. There are closer gyms, but this facility is far beyond all competitors specifically for kids ages 5-10 (which is all I can speak to). I suspect that we will be continuing with Coach Islam and Slick Sluggers for years.
I’ve been training here for close to 3 years, and since starting, I’ve become more disciplined, gotten into much better shape, and drastically improved my fighting ability. Every coach here is friendly, helpful, and genuinely cares about the people they train. The people who train here are just as welcoming and supportive, which makes the gym a great environment to grow in. If you’re on the fence or just curious, I recommend giving it a try — you never know how much it might change things for you.
Slick Sluggers Boxing is an amazing gym for all levels. The group classes are high-energy, well-organized, and super motivating, while the private sessions offer personalized, top-quality coaching. It’s a great place for beginners, anyone looking to get in shape, and amateur boxers who want to sharpen their skills. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and truly care about your progress. Slick sluggers is all around an awesome place to be. Coach Ji was awesome and helped get me into boxing more than I thought I would. Aside from the personal trainers, the group classes are great, everyone there no matter the level encourages you to be better and you can tell that the trainers truly want to help you get better. Wouldn’t recommend another place other than Slick Sluggers to get your boxing career started.
