I want to leave praise for my group exercise trainer Dan Yeadon for his irreplaceable help in maintaining my fitness at my advanced age. Dan has been unbelievably reliable, patient, experienced every single day that I have shown up. He demonstrates all the routines each time with the same level of enthusiasm and clarity. He looks after my limitations by providing alternative exercise when needed. He observes and offers pointers constantly during sessions. He does this for each and every one of the participants. He has helped me develop a fitness program that I now look forward to and am now hooked on. Hate missing days. I am convinced I would not have made as much progress without his support and professional help. Dan loves his work and it shows. So if you’re looking for fitness training I would highly recommend his services.
I'm 76 and get a gym membership through my Medicare plan. I've been a member at Steel Beach for 3 years. The building is an old industrial site and the gym has 3 floors. It has everything from free weights, weight machines, treadmills and steppers. They offer a variety of classes. There is a wide range of members from body builders and power lifters, high school athletes training for a specific sport and old guys like me who just want to keep moving. Somehow there never seems to be problems between each group. The building may be old but the gym is always clean and the equipment in great condition. I've not seen people hogging machines or weights like in other gyms where I have been a member. The parking lot sucks and always looks full but the gym never appears crowded.
I called from NYC for my teenage son, spoke to Daniel and honestly it’s hard for a New Yorker like me to believe he was so nice and the most pleasant person to deal with. I’m signing my other son to this gym. It was a gift to my son and he loves his membership. I really mean it I wish more people were like Dan. Appreciate all his help.
The best gym ever. I have been a member for over 40 years. I competed back in the day and was a gym rat going to several different gyms with day passes. This gym is by far the best. It even has a "woman's" room for females only to work out. It has 3 floors of extensive equipment for all levels of fitness goals. Yes the building is older but isn't it the equipment that is more important. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
The gym is huge. Three floors, a women’s room and a very large room where they have multiple different classes per day. Tons of machines to choose from. The only downfall is it’s a very old building and could really use some updating. It’s a great gym to go and workout and not feel like everyone is judging you because they are actually working out too!
