I can't say enough good things about our experience at Doghouse! My son is 12 and is naturally very mild tempered/reserved, but in just a few lessons I have seen him grow drastically in his self-confidence and athleticism. He has played many other team sports in the past, but he has enjoyed the individualized attention with Coach Adam in personal training...and the results week to week are very obvious. The coach has been incredibly warm, and he has made my son feel like he is a part of the gym and welcome there anytime. Other students have been very helpful and courteous during our sessions as well. It was an easy sign-up process, we could get started right away, and it has been worth every penny. Would highly recommend to other parents whether the goal is specifically boxing, building self-esteem, or if you're just looking for a fun new means of exercise for your kids.
My son will be reaching his one-year anniversary in a couple of months since he began training with Coach Adam Pina at DogHouse Boxing Club, and I could not be happier with the experience. The progress he has made, the skills he has developed, and the overall environment have exceeded my expectations. Coach Pina runs a very well-maintained and professional gym. He is excellent with youth athletes—he holds my son accountable by pushing him appropriately, while also demonstrating patience and understanding. The club is welcoming, and he consistently takes the time to greet families personally. Most importantly, it is clear that he takes great pride in his business and genuinely values what he has built. The improvements in my son’s abilities are gradual but consistent, which speaks to the quality of coaching. Coach Pina is also a strong communicator and makes a point to consult parents first. He goes above and beyond for the kids, such as coordinating with the families for the kids to participate in the Woodstock Christmas parade, and he kept us well-informed throughout the entire process.
Signing up to train with Coach Adam at Dog House Boxing has been the best choice I have made since moving to Woodstock. Not only is Coach Adam super welcoming and motivated so is everyone else at this gym. I love the culture of acceptance no matter your skill level (in my case basically none) but at the same time Coach Adam encounters you to push yourself and try your hardest every time you walk in the door. I seriously can't recommend this gym enough. If you are hesitant about joining, go walk in and talk to Coach Adam and I know you'll leave excited and ready to start training with Dog House Boxing.
We decided to switch things up this winter for our 9- and 14-year-old boys during baseball offseason training, and it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made. From our first conversation with Adam, we hit the ground running. The boys genuinely look forward to every session and want to attend as often as possible because they’ve seen real improvements in their overall movement, agility, and physical performance. Adam does an outstanding job building rapport with his clients—no matter their age—and truly brings out the best in them. We’ll absolutely continue coming back every offseason!
Coach took the time to not only give me advice when it came to boxing, but also making correlations with life and helping me grow as a young man. With just the 30 minutes I spent in the gym I learned a lot. I appreciate what you do!
