Absolutely amazing academy. Two stories with plenty of mat space! The culture was super welcoming and fun when I dropped in a few times. The instruction was great as well. We finished working on a chain/flow that had clearly defined sections (takedown, pass, back take, submission) with intentional positional sparring after covering/drilling the technique. The rolling/sparring was both relaxed and competitive depending on your partner and what y’all wanted to work. Great communication with hard rolls and good laughs. 10//10 coming back before I leave the island.
Definitely a great place for the whole family. I train gi, no-gi, and Muay Thai. My husband trains gi and our kids have been apart of the competition team for many years. As a middle aged mom, I’ve always felt accepted, encouraged, and 100% comfortable in every class and open mat.
We have been attending Aloha Roll Jujutsu Academy for over a year now, and it has been an amazing experience for our family. Coach Gilberto, Coach Linda, and all of the coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and truly care about each student’s growth. What stands out most is how discipline is taught in such a positive and encouraging environment—building respect, confidence, focus, and accountability while making everyone feel supported. There is a strong sense of family and community here, and we highly recommend Aloha Roll to anyone looking for a welcoming, structured place for their child or whole family to train.
The best thing about Aloha Roll is the culture. The instructors and students are all very patient and supportive. The skills training is serious and intense but everyone looks out for each other's health and well-being to avoid injury. I love training here.
I can't say enough good things about Aloha Rolls Acadamey in Lahaina. From the start I was warmly greeted by the owners Gilberto and Linda. They set me up with an unlimited two week pass at a very reasonable price so I could continue to train Muay Thai while I was on the island. Over the next week and a half I took a class from Coach Nick and 4 or 5 classes with Coach Luke. Both guys are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Every member was equally kind and welcoming. Facilities are very clean and top notch. You can tell the people there care about what they do and about the people that walk through the door. I don't know when Ill be back to Maui again, but I know when I do I'll be coming by Aloha Roll Academy again.
