Coach Haru Shimanishi changed my life. He is open, welcoming and will help you reach your greatest martial arts potential. When I first came to Haru, I already had a few fights under my belt but had not been taught how to defend a punch. Coach Haru not only built my defensive skills, useful in competition as well as real life, but also grew me as a fighter and person to the point where I am able to confidently train my own students today. He has trained an arsenal of over 10 world champions who held titles for Pride, K1, the UFC and One Championship as wells as many national and local champions in MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing and more. His depth of knowledge and fight IQ is astounding. If you are a fighter looking for a seasoned professional who can take you to the top, Haru is the best. The gym also offers kid's kickboxing, stretching, muay thai, pads and mitts, boxing, and fight team training. They also have options for training intensives where individuals live on-site and are immersed in the training, nutrition, and mindset of champions. They even have the option of putting their training to practice with participation in a local fight. MMA Champs is by far the best martial arts gym I have ever attended. The classes are designed to fit any skill level. I feel that I have improved by leaps and bounds since starting my training here. Haru has years and years of training. He knows his art inside and out. Best coach you'll find.

Best kickboxing coach on Oahu! Legit not many coaches trained real k1 fighters on the islands. He also trained and got fighters in the ufc! He’s trained Maurice Smith, Dj’s head coach Matt Hume, Matt Brown, Chris Leben, Josh Barnett, Dennis Alexio, Christian Lee, and current One championship champion Angela Lee! Some solid Muay Thai, kickboxing, and boxing training with experienced fighters and people that are still learning. Everyone helps each other out to get better everyday and will make you feel like family

Great gym to learn the fundamentals of Muay Thai and Boxing. Haru is one of the best coaches on the island! The environment is friendly and there are many great training partners to work with, whether you’re new or exprienced. Definitely worth trying out if you want to learn to fight to compete or just to protect yourself ^_^

Haru, Mikey and Brandon are ninjas!!! There classes are high intensity and addicting!!! I drive from Sandy Beach whenever I’m in town to train w/these guys. There are no shortage of places to train closer to where I live but these guys are worth the distance. I’m constantly thinking about classes now or training throughout my daily routine. It’s hard work but it’s surprisingly fun, rewarding maybe is a better word. So stoked I found these guys!!! Give it a try, you will love it!!!
