**Updated: I never requested a refund at any time.** Compared to other academies my daughter has trained with, these folks lack the high levels of discipline, value based instruction and physical instruction that I expected. The children are not taught to respect each other and I observed more than once, children bullying each other within earshot of the insructors without being corrected. They are not taught values of integrity, courtesy, and excellence that should be part of any martial art. They communicated information to the student that should have been communicated directly to the parent. The instructor at the Stevi location was disrespectul to myself and my sister when we were simply trying to garner information on upcoming class changes. Most importantly, they teach a jumbled mix of martial arts, rather than a strict study of each style. I wouldn't recommend them if you are serious about wanting to truly learn and immerse you or your child in a particular style of martial art.
My kids and I have been taking classes here now for a year and It's been the absolute best experience for us! The structure to teach kids and progress earning tips and belts is a great structure! They have excelled in so many ways. They not only learn Judo but respect as well. Plus Sensai Lee makes it so fun for the kids! I am taking the adult self defense classes and Judo and It is such a great outlet and skillset to be learning! They really make you feel like family here! The Lee family is so great! - Gretchen
My family has taken several classes here and even got a custom Kydex Sheath made. Harry Lee and the whole team have always been great. They do a good job of teaching a blend of traditional martial arts with real world survival. The younger 6 year old kids might not absorb all the Virtues of Bushido, but they have fun and sets the foundation for future learning.
I have been taking classes here multiple times a week for a while now, Judo, self defense, and Karate kick boxing. I can not recommend bitterroot warrior arts enough. The people there will become your dojo family. I've also taken my son to little ronins Jr and he loves it and has made many friends. Definitely recommend coming here if you or your children are looking for a place to learn martial Arts.
Who would have thought there was this type of martial arts school in a small Montana town. My 9 year old son loves taking these classes. Sensei Lee is wonderful with the kids. Patient, professional, funny yet firm. And Mrs "Dojo Mama" Lee is awesome to work with. Friendly, personable and makes you feel welcome. I would recommend this school to anyone.
