Mannnnn, Tommy is the best!! Genuinely some of my best life memories I have, were spent at Precision. I was going there during a challenging time in my life, unbeknownst to my teammates. The blood, sweat and tears I left on those mats built me up in a way that nothing else could have. Going there got me out of my funk, and helped me find my strength again. Tommy, Greg, and everybody that steps on those mats are tough, competitive athletes, and they push you to do your best. Many times I was the only woman on the mats.. They never made me feel like "a woman". Just a follow athlete. I absolutely love and cherish all of the great training experiences, the wealth of knowledge I got there, and the top tier physical conditioning. It was the BEST foundation for me to build on. When I was training there, I would go to open mats out of state or at other gyms and people were always surprised at how high of a level I was at for my belt rank, big thanks to Tommy and my teammates at Precision. It's been few years since I've left Charleston, but I've continued my jiu-jitsu journey 4 hours away in Chicagland, yet I still miss Tommy's gym. If you're a woman, if you are struggling with any emotional stuff, if you are an athlete that has been off your game for a while and just want a new competitive challenging sport, check out Precision. You will be SOOO HAPPY you did!!

I have been doing Jiu-Jitsu for 3 years and thanks the best place I have been to. The atmosphere and team are incredible and have multiple world champions. The owner Tommy is a family man and runs the gym with amazing principles and morals. The gym brings a family atmosphere that is truly energetic. The kids program will be my family’s place for the kids to train because of the safe environment.
My visit to precision combat couldn't have been much better than it was. It's one of the warmest and most welcoming Jiu jitsu environments that I've ever experienced. On top of that, the students are eager to learn and the instruction by Tom is top notch. I highly recommend this to anyone who is experienced or looking to start in grappling.
I have trained and been friends with the Owner Tommy for almost 20 years. I first met him when I was attending college in Charleston at EIU. I then drove to Mattoon and I was amazed at the coach, gym and team that they have there. They have MMA Champions coaching there, JiuJitsu World Champions as coaches and teammates. They have an awesome program for beginners and seasoned competitors. Along with an WEIGHT ROOM, Lockers, and showers. This place truly has it all. If your ever thinking about learning Kickboxing, Boxing, wrestling, JiuJitsu, or want to make new friends and get in shape stop by and ask for Tommy Butler.
