The owner was there and greeted me, all boxers were friendly, very accommodating to me on my first day there
THis was a great gym I joined briefly ,but end up leaving after a couple months after an injury and then I shortly moved back home out of state. The gym is affordable , the owner and coach Melvin loves the sport and is down the earth. I was taking the group classes with Danny being one of the coaches at the time . If you are serious about getting your health and skills up this is the place to be .I know women sometimes are nervous about these environments ,but I felt welcomed and encouraged just as much as the ppl who had already been apart of the gym. I encourage the ladies to join.
I have known Melvin for over 10 years, he has the most experience you could ask for, incredible temperament, he’s personable and driven. There’s no one else in the city that could prepare you to be the athlete and boxer you want to be than him. Not only that, he’s kind, helpful, provides a positive environment and is welcoming. He is too notch - a diamond in the rough!
Pound 4 Pound is a very welcoming environment, and Melvin is a fantastic coach. Melvin is so good at building you from the ground up, step by step. He also makes it a lot of fun. My son an I started boxing a little over a year ago. This has been amazing for his coordination and confidence. He asks me to go all the time. I'm in my 40s and probably in the best shape of my life. The classes are great but, invest in a few personal sessions with Master Melvin. The investment will pay huge dividends.
My son has been wanting to box for a long while. I read all the Great reviews about Pound 4 Pound and how Awesome Master Melvin is. Well the reviews didn't disappoint. My son and I are excited to see where this journey takes him.
