Beware of poor customer service and shady business practices. The only reason this gym is given two stars is for its 24/7 access. When I first got the membership the owner was obviously either not listening to my questions or just excited to make a little extra cash. As seen in the photo, a $98 charge one week and a $40 charge the following week. Anticipate a total of $138 to start your membership. She will not tell you this and will say it’s too much work to prorate the membership fee. I started my membership mid billing cycle to be fair. Like any other ethical business practice you would think the fee would be prorated. Nope not for Hornet Fitness the owner specifically said “that’s too much math” but told me I would not be charged the following week for another membership fee. Which of course I was charged a membership fee. As seen in other reviews cancelling the membership is very difficult. The owner will downplay it as she does in the comments on these reviews. There’s no reason why it takes 30 days to process a cancellation in 2026. It’s an excuse to get one more month of membership out of you. Just like the excuse that she made for not prorating the membership. If you would like to not get charged for an extra month of membership, simply contact your bank and protect your money from Hornet Fitness. If you would like to not be charged multiple membership fees for your first month don’t do business here. It’s simply shady business practices. Avoid the headache drive the extra 10-15 min to the nearest 24/7 gym. It’s better than doing business with a company that just wants more access to your money. Shady and unethical business, avoid doing business with this company. Hopefully this honest review sharpens up the business practices or prevents someone from dealing with the same issues and chooses to do business elsewhere. It’s simple laziness.
The owners are horrible rude people with no integrity. I would not recommend coming to this gym in that atmosphere.
The local rec center that just opened up down the street has 100x the amenities and costs less. The 24 hour access is nice but you will hate being charged over and over when you go to cancel. The owner blamed it on 'every gym does the same thing' which isn't true. Even if they did, other companies charging for services not provided hardly makes it OK to do the same thing.
This family owned business is special because they have a deep knowledge of fitness and they care about their members. They listen to your goals and customize workouts to challenge you and have fun. I’ve been training 2-3 times a week for almost two years. Jim, Kana and family have help me to make big improvements to my physical and mental health! Get your sweat on at Hornet Fitness! You will be treated like family.
Our family LOVES this gym! We were looking for something local to make getting to the gym everyday easier and I’m so glad we did! The owners and staff are so nice, helpful and knowledgeable about everything fitness related! It has a small town gym atmosphere with everything you need. There are a ton of cardio machines, everything you need for lifting, a sauna, sled and more. They have a nice area for your kids to play in while you workout. It’s reasonably priced and I would definitely recommend this gym to anyone!
