I'm going to have to give it a 3. It markets itself as a way to get in shape and learn self defense. So I thought I would learn how to throw a punch. But it is more like a boxcerise class. When I went for my intro class the coach I think his name was Jabari he taught us how the punches are thrown and the stances. There was also a mother there who must have thought the same thing I did about actual lessons. I think Jabari's classes may be more slower paced and hands on so one could learn. But the second class that I went to was just punch, punch, punch, harder, harder. My form was not checked or anything. In an attempt to keep up with the class and the "coach" my shoulder started throbbing so bad. It lasted at least a week if not more. Especially when I would lay in ceartin positions. I was actually online looking for a arm sling because I really, really like the workout and the other boxers. I figured I would just go too Jabari's class and maybe watch some YouTube videos on stance and form but my shoulder didn't feel safe enough even when it stopped hurting. Apparently your supposed to kind of swing from your leg not your arm according to YouTube. So I called to cancel and this is where it got tricky. First I paid 50 dollars for gloves that were a medium. The front desk person said they were the perfect size. But after boxing in them and having my fingers tingle she said they had to stretch. But after looking online I called back and a male coach said the size goes by weight and I weigh 200 pounds. She said I could return them but when I asked when they called for "collections," I got the impression I could not. So she said that although I called to quit a month and a half prior the quitting process takes a month. So I still owed for that month plus a 25 dollar late fee. I had not been up there because I still had two weeks on my original month when I called. So I asked had I signed a contract that makes me obligated to pay I had forgotten. She said no but the 4 digit pass key to get into the app was my contract. I guess there must have been fine print somewhere in the app. Despite this the classes were super fun. They have the option of just buying class packs. I would do that because then there is no contract the classes are a little more but I think it's worth it.
Although the room is packed with people, the workouts feel personal. The instruction is clear and non judgmental. The balance of intense workout and relaxed paced movement is well planned.
I just started and I must say COACH BEN and COACH KC are the only two coaches I experience and I must say this is a awesome experience they are great cant wait to get fit with the rest BIG UP TITLE BOXING
Incredible customer service and personability with every staff member I've ran in to. Coach Frank was a great first impression for my first class!
He was encouraging & motivated me to come back tomorrow. He even lets you know when you’re messing up so that you can correct yourself. Very nice & helpful.
