This place is amazing! My 6 year old is very introverted and does not like contact sports, so we signed him up at Zachary Martial Arts a few months ago. In these few months, we have seen tremendous growth in his confidence and in his ability to focus. He is making friends and loves participating in all the classes. The instructors explain and model what the students should do and then correct them as needed to help students improve their skills. I highly recommend Zachary Martial Arts.
Since my daughter started attending classes here, her confidence has increased. Coach has even said that she's been getting faster. They support all of their students equally.
I cannot say enough good things about Zachary Martial Arts! It is owned by a truly lovely couple who pour so much care into the community. The husband is incredibly kind and dedicated, ensuring that every student feels built up and confident. It’s also such a treat that his wife, despite running her own busy music shop, frequently comes over to sit in on the classes and chat. She is incredibly sociable and makes everyone in the room feel right at home. Between the owners and their fantastic, uplifting staff, you couldn't ask for a better support system. Plus, the gym is immaculate. It is noticeably cleaner than other training spaces I’ve been to. They hit it out of the park with both cleanliness and culture!
I had a very disappointing experience with Zachary Martial Arts. 😕 The owner came across as rude, disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional during interactions. Instead of listening and communicating respectfully, conversations felt one-sided and dismissive. There was very little understanding or willingness to handle concerns maturely. 🚫 What made the experience even worse was the obvious favoritism shown toward certain individuals. 😒 It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that did not feel welcoming or supportive. A professional environment should make everyone feel respected and valued, but unfortunately that was not my experience here. The tension and negativity made it difficult to feel comfortable attending. ⚠️ The final straw was being hung up on while trying to have a straightforward conversation. 📞❌ That level of disrespect and lack of professionalism is unacceptable for any business, especially one working closely with students and families. I expected better communication, fairness, and courtesy. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place based on my experience. 👎 Message to Owner: I want to directly correct your statement because you are mixing two completely different situations together. I was not an employee of the Martial Arts program. I was a former employee of the Music School and a former student within Martial Arts. My review was written strictly from my personal experience as a student and customer, not from an employment standpoint. Those are separate experiences and should not be misrepresented publicly. Saying that you “value all feedback” while immediately dismissing criticism and labeling it as drama or harassment only proves my original point. Constructive feedback is not harassment simply because it is uncomfortable to hear. From my experience, concerns were often ignored instead of addressed professionally, and the response itself came across as defensive, one-sided, and disrespectful rather than solution-focused. I stand by what I said regarding my personal experience and perspective. Calling someone a problem instead of acknowledging their experience reflects poorly on leadership and professionalism. I have moved forward, but I will not allow my words or experiences to be twisted into something inaccurate simply to protect an image. I genuinely wish the students well and hope future concerns are handled with more maturity, accountability, and respect.
I have been training here for half a year and have had only amazing experiences. Within the time I have been training here I have noticed that it is always clean and I have never heard any foul language from my instructors. Coach Zach is very friendly and helpful during lessons and I would recommend if you were to train anywhere you should train here. I have only had good experiences no bad experiences which is why I love training here.
