I’ve been training at Pentagon MMA for the past two years doing both BJJ and Muay Thai, and it’s honestly one of the best gyms and communities I’ve ever been a part of. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve, no matter your experience level. They create an environment that pushes you to grow while still making training fun and welcoming. The atmosphere here is what really makes the gym special. Everyone is respectful, supportive, and willing to help each other learn. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll feel comfortable walking through the doors. I’ve learned so much over the last two years and couldn’t recommend Pentagon MMA enough.
The new performance training center is a beautiful, light filled space to grow as an athlete and martial artist. There are two mats, heavy bags, weights, showers AND a sauna/ cold plunge. Sa'idah and Isaac are DMV jiu jitsu legends with the competition medals to prove it. They also are just as committed to creating a welcoming community for beginners and competitors alike. Come by and train!
I like here, recommend to anyone come to try. Everyone in gym is kind and teach me enthusiastically. If you are looking for gym for BJJ,here is best place!
I’ve been training with Pentagon MMA for over a year now, and I came in with absolutely zero experience. From day one, the environment felt welcoming and supportive, which made it easy to stay consistent and push myself. I’ve had the opportunity to attend group classes with Coach Teddy, Coach Nick, Coach Vivek, and Coach Jomkitti. Each of them brings a unique energy and expertise to their sessions, and their coaching styles complement one another incredibly well. The structure of the classes is outstanding—they keep the learning process enjoyable while still making sure it’s motivating and appropriately challenging. Whether it’s refining technique, building conditioning, or simply boosting confidence, the coaches do an amazing job of helping you progress at your own pace while still pushing you to improve
I've been coming to PMMA for almost two years now (32 when I started). I love it here! As a woman, I was a little worried at first, but I have to say that went away once I realized how inclusive this gym is and I just love seeing more and more women coming through the doors. In a room full of students, the coaches are really good about paying attention to you and giving you feedback. They really care about making sure you're understanding what they're teaching, it's not just a "workout" it's a place to learn something really cool and special. I can honestly say that I've fallen in love with Muay Thai. Besides having top tier coaches (who you can always go up to, on and off the mat) and actually feeling like you're learning, the community is really great too! Some of my closest friends where made here, people who have supported me and lifted me when I needed it and vise versa. Kru Vivek has created a really good environment, where it doesn't matter who you partner up with, everyone here has the same goal of learning, growing, and getting better each day. I love how communication is highly encouraged when partnering with someone and specially when sparring. It doesn't matter what your goals are, maybe you're looking for some self-defense, to lose weight, be part of a community, or even compete, you will be met by friendly faces and coaches who will work with you to make sure you meet whatever goal you have set out for yourself. They will push you (hard sometimes, but with love) to make sure you get where you want to go!
