Coach is super chill and experienced. great atmosphere, very welcoming, fun and friendly.
Never been to a place where they try to hurt you the first day in Jiu Jitsu class, the owner can’t greet you when you walk in the door, and the boxing coach just sits on their butt and play on their cell phone during class, talking about how one of their fighters “might” show up to train, and then say to you, don’t you have your own routine? When you ask if he is going to do any drills. Terrible customer service, dirty facility, worst $25 I ever spent. I should have just trained in my yard.
My 2 daughters have been training at MCA for the last 6 months. The coaches are very helpful and supportive with our kids while teaching them discipline and skills they will carry with them through life. Highly recommended.
As a native of Manistee who was back in town visiting from Anthem, AZ, I had the opportunity to train at Manistee Combat Academy — and I can’t say enough great things about the experience. I’m a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the owner of Infinite Jiu Jitsu in Anthem, Arizona, so I’ve trained at and visited quite a few academies over the years. From the moment I walked through the doors, the team at Manistee Combat Academy made me feel completely welcome. Head instructor Brent is extremely skilled and knowledgeable. His technical understanding of jiu-jitsu is impressive, and he does a great job breaking techniques down in a way that makes sense for all levels. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students’ development and growth on the mats. Owner Trevor has built something special. He creates a fun, family-oriented atmosphere while still maintaining a high level of training. The culture is positive, respectful, and challenging — exactly what you want in a jiu-jitsu academy. The room pushes you to get better while still supporting each other. As someone who grew up in Manistee, it meant a lot to come home and experience that kind of hospitality. I truly appreciated how welcoming everyone was, and it’s clear that Manistee Combat Academy is making a strong impact in the community.
