Man, wanna feel like you are stepping onto the set of karate kid? This place had a real nostalgic feel and the instructor Rob, is extremely talented, knowledgeable, and experienced! Always loved going to kickboxing.
Rob Ward is the best martial arts teacher for young kids I have ever encountered. He instills confidence with patience and compassion without compromising the need to learn proper form and technique. He is also great with the adult-level students and they all train together in a very positive atmosphere.
I went to the club for a few years when I was a kid. It's not a bad place for a small town and is very welcoming to family, but the equipment, website, and facility is very outdated. It all looks exactly the same today as it did when I was 9. There are some positive aspects. The facility is nicely sized and has separate rooms for gymnastics, grappling, lifting, etc. The community aspect is very present, and the retro atmosphere is very nostalgic. They also actually do frequent sparring for all levels and put their work to the test, which alone sets them apart from most karate places. I've never heard of Bushido Karate and can't find any info on it, but they look just as qualified/experienced as other karate programs. If you want to learn karate, gymnastics and/or work out, I recommend this place. I don't recommend it for learning jiu-jitsu (grappling) or kickboxing/boxing, as the instructors don't have as much experience in jiu-jitsu and seem a bit behind the curve in terms of modern kickboxing/boxing. However, this is the only gig in town so if you want to learn I still highly recommend starting somewhere. This is a good place to start.
I was there for 3 years Rob is one of the worst people he is rude after 1 year of being there.He is not a nice guy to let you train with. I do not recommend going there. Go somewhere else. The place looks like it will collapse . The inside is worse then it seems.
Rob (the owner) is a great guy. He really knows his stuff and I'd recommend him over any other martial arts instructor around!
