I’m writing to express serious concerns regarding the supervision and overall conduct I observed during a recent visit to your center with my younger children. While at the facility, I witnessed several children using inappropriate language. Rather than correcting or redirecting this behavior, the staff present appeared to laugh along with them. I also observed children playing football and engaging in physical tackling, which presents a clear safety hazard. Despite the risks, there was no staff intervention to redirect the activity or ensure a safer alternative. Even more concerning was the behavior of some staff toward myself and my coworkers. When we calmly reminded our children not to tackle and to engage in safe, respectful play, a staff member mocked us by telling our children, “Your teacher doesn’t let you play,” and laughed. This level of unprofessionalism and disrespect undermines the efforts we, as parents and educators, make to guide our children positively. It sends the wrong message to the children and reflects poorly on the center’s values and expectations. These experiences gave the impression of a lack of training, professionalism, and alignment with the responsibilities expected of individuals entrusted with the care and development of young children. It is my hope that the staff involved will be spoken to regarding proper behavior management, professional communication, and the importance of modeling respectful and safe conduct at all times.

Friendly, professional staff that take great care and attention to the children in any program provided there. My son attends the after school program there. Also summer, fall, and winter programs for children k-12th grade are available. I recommend this community center 100 %. We just love it, and so does my son 💙. He gets extra physical activity and more social interaction with other children. These are both things for children's development. If you get food stamps or tanif, all programs are half price which is so awesome for low income parents. Check it out. You won't regret it!! From 0 to 10( Ten being very satisfied) I give it a 10 for sure.

It was great they celebrated the South Valley Pride community came together first time in 2 years got to see a lot of people God bless Albuquerque and the South Valley

8/15/21: Exervised in this hidden gem park that's adjacent to Westside Community Center and it is pristine! Bravo to ALL for keeping this park so clean ❤ I will absolutely be back
