To be honest, I've never trained at this facility--BUT, I have seen the boxers that come out of this gym at multiple matches in Wilmington, and they always perform well, are technically sound and sharp, which is a testament to the training they receive. Keep it up Elmo's Boxing and Fitness!
Great place to train if you’re a beginner or a pro. Coach Elmo and everyone else will treat you like family. Great location as it’s a 15 minute commute or less. The monthly cost is an awesome deal because of what you will learn especially just your first lesson. I’ll be back soon Coach!
I started last month and the very first day I knew I was going to love this place. Coach is very involved with everyone. I started at 203 lbs and in 3 and a half weeks I’m at 185 lbs. Great workout with a great environment
Boxing is a great workout, as well as a fun skill to learn. I haven't tried any of the other places that advertise boxing lessons here in Jacksonville, but I can say this is one of the better gyms I've personally been to. Ive taken Karate and BJJ and I've enjoyed my time here more Elmo is very knowledgeable and gives tons of individual attention even when there is groups. His place is well equipped, and the membership rates are pretty reasonable. Also, no "year long contract" or anything, so you can cancel whenever you feel like it. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to learn boxing or build up their cardio/endurance.
Elmo’s is a great place to go to increase your cardio and to build a solid foundation in boxing. Elmo is great; he’s knowledgeable and always makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of skill level or how far you want to go in boxing. The gym is clean and new, but still has an “old-world” boxing gym feel. The place is really a melting pot; there’s novices and sometimes really experienced boxers, men and women, families with kids and individuals. A month membership was really affordable for my husband and I, and you don’t have to sign a contract, which means it’s no hassle when you move (I previously had a gym membership in Richlands, and we had to pay $60 just to cancel the membership when we moved, so it’s a very military-family friendly place.) If you’re looking to improve, there’s no better place in NC.
