I dropped in and trained muay thai at Tama for a week while in town on business. Master T, his entire staff, and students were all super friendly and welcoming. Master T is a great instructor with many many years under his belt. The gym was clean, and offered multiple martial arts disciplines. This gym caters to brand new students who have never taken any martial arts before as well as highly experienced fighters who compete, so no matter what level you are Tama is for you. I had a great experience training here and will definitely be back. I highly recommend trying out this gym! Thank you Master T and team!
TAMA martial arts is an incredible place to train. I was in from out of town and dropped in for a BJJ class. The class was great and balanced clear instruction with positional and live rolling. The staff was helpful and Grandmaster Taningco was extremely welcoming. His love for martial arts and his vast depth of knowledge were evident, even just in the few minutes I spoke with him before and after class. The dojo’s aesthetic is very nostalgic - you can feel the years of training, blood, sweat, and tears that have gone into making it what it is today. If you are from the Dayton area and are considering martial arts, I highly recommend you check out this exceptional studio.
I feel I was very fortunate to have trained in TAMA's kenpo program for 10 years! Grandmaster Taningco is a jack of all trades and master of them all! I was always impressed by the diversity of arts taught at TAMA, easily something for everybody. The kenpo curriculum is influenced by each of these arts. That's what I loved about it! The curriculum offers a clear progression that also fosters creativity, allowing one to make the art their own. In my time there, I worked extensively with the junior and kids classes, as a teacher. It was rewarding to see the transformation as these young people grew in confidence. Sadly, I no longer live in the Dayton area, or I would still be at TAMA. During the COVID lockdown, I had the privilege to once again train with GM Taningco and Guru Vaughan via Zoom in the Filipino martial arts, gaining valuable insights into GM Taningco's family art. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TAMA to anyone living in the Dayton area.
The Muay Thai classes at TAMA are exceptional! They’re super affordable, and they offer many classes on different days/times to allow for flexibility. Shoutout to Master T for being such an incredible instructor. I’m moving in a few days, and it’s sad to leave Dayton as I don’t think I will find another gym this amazing. They were super accommodating when it came time to cancel. Thanks to the whole TAMA team for teaching me a new skill. The training was hard, but definitely worth it.
Tama is an incredible school! As a lifelong martial artist i immediately fell in love with the aesthetics of the school. I love all the different disciplines offered. It even has its own Grandmaster who visits and teaches many of the classes every day. My entire family attends classes together. I would 100💯 recommend anyone looking for a new school to attend. I am a seasoned Muay Thai kickboxer. Come and spare with me!!
