Least compassionate instructor. Honestly looks like he hates his job. Felt discriminated against as if I could not afford the class by the instructor himself. My son tried and payed attention to his capacity (4yr old). If it wasn’t for the young man helping the class out my son would have been left to the side and skipped on turns. Would rather spend my money elsewhere, rather than a chain facility with low standards on making everyone feel welcomed enough to go back. Parents there’s better facilities out there , don’t make this your first option.
Gracie Barra is an outstanding place to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed and part of a supportive community. Professor Hector and coaches are not only highly skilled but also patient and encouraging, making sure students of all levels feel comfortable while being challenged to improve. The structured curriculum makes it easy to follow along and build skills step by step, while the emphasis on discipline, respect, and teamwork creates a positive environment on and off the mats. One of the biggest benefits I’ve seen is with my daughter. Training at Gracie Barra has helped her become more confident, disciplined, and skilled — and it’s even carried over into her schoolwork. She’s more focused in class, and her teachers have noticed the difference in her attitude and effort. Thank you for all you have done for Jaylah! We truly appreciate it.
We have had a great experience at Gracie Barra here in Elsinore. Our son has been training now for 3+ years and his improvement in his confidence and technique is night and day. Professor Hector and the rest of the coaches are very professional and work with each kid regardless of their skill level. We look forward to seeing more improvements in our son and the rest of the kids.

I was holding my infant son in my arms when I realized something was missing — I needed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu back in my life. My BJJ journey began in 2006, but it wasn’t until the summer of 2017 that I reignited that path by joining the most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy organization in the world: Gracie Barra. Since then, my experience at Gracie Barra Lake Elsinore has been nothing short of remarkable. I started as a white belt, and nearly nine years later, I’ve earned my brown belt and am now a certified instructor at the academy. But this journey has been about far more than belts or techniques. It’s about the community — the friendships I’ve formed with people of all ages and backgrounds — and the lifelong lessons BJJ teaches on and off the mats. Professor Hector, the owner and lead instructor, has been a consistent mentor and role model. With over 20 years of BJJ experience, he continues to challenge himself and bring in fresh insights by learning from legendary Gracie Barra instructors like Otavio Sousa, Braulio Estima, and Phillipe Della Monica. His dedication ensures that we are always growing, evolving, and receiving world-class instruction. The academy has grown significantly over the years. While attendance naturally ebbs and flows, the heart of the team remains strong. Many of the kids — including my own son — have grown up here, developing not just skills, but values: accountability, teamwork, resilience, and respect.
