Walked in to check out things out. Annie was very happy and helpful. Preston showed me around the gym and gave a lot of helpful information and insights about the gym.
Great atmosphere, equipment, coaches, and community. You really get what you pay for with ATT. Even as a complete beginner to striking sports and submission grappling (wrestling background), I have never felt unwelcome. The coaches do an excellent job of introducing beginners and teaching advanced technique for higher level athletes. You won’t find higher level MMA coaching anywhere else in Portland.

I’ve been looking for a new gym to cross train jiu jitsu at and was recommended by a friend so I went in for a trial during their 11am jiu jitsu class last Friday. I was blown away with how clean and well kept this place is. There are locker rooms, showers and they offer GI rentals incase you don’t have one. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in till the moment I walked out. I struggle with chronic social anxiety but I felt so calm and included that all my nervousness diminished within seconds of me arriving. I got a tour before I started class so I didn’t feel lost trying to find my way around. Very high level, respectful and friendly professors and students who went out of their way to introduce themselves and help me. The class was easy for me to follow and the techniques were simplified so I didn’t feel overwhelmed while learning new things. I can’t wait to come back for another class next week!
