I have been training consistently now for almost 4 years and I could genuinely not imagine my life without this community. Despite TeamLink being a fight gym, the environment is very welcoming and inclusive while still being extremely effective. Coaches and athletes are friendly, personable and sincerely invested in your success and challenge you in a way that’s effective and difficult without being discouraging. It makes you want to actually be better. This place won’t just improve your fitness but your life if you allow it too. Become comfortable with being uncomfortable.
The instructors are very patient and helpful, everyone is very kind. A very welcoming and fun atmosphere, everyone attempts to push each other to do their best and strive for success.
Depression, anxiety and insomnia. When I started training Muay Thai, I didn’t start to learn self-defense or how to fight — I started to distract myself. I was going through a period of loneliness, feeling truly alone. Because of that, I began to develop anxiety and depression. This led to nighttime insomnia — waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep, or sleeping very poorly. More and more daily problems caused by the insomnia. And with that insomnia, my immune system dropped a lot, and I started getting sick frequently. I was catching colds all the time and began having several health problems because of my low immunity, since I wasn’t sleeping well. During the day, I was always sad, unmotivated, and I also started having very fast, racing thoughts, which is not good at all. I began feeling extremely stressed during the day and at night because of the fatigue and exhaustion — there were days when I honestly thought I was going to lose my mind from so much exhaustion. Maybe I was even going through burnout, I’m not sure. I think all of that weakened my immune system a lot, and I started having recurring health issues. And I’ve been dealing with this for more than two years. I started therapy, and I’m taking an antidepressant and an anti-anxiety medication. Then I decided to start training again. I used to go to the gym before all this, but with the insomnia and depression, I was always tired because I slept so poorly, and I felt exhausted and unmotivated to train. That’s when I thought about trying some kind of martial art. I tried Jiu-Jitsu, but I didn’t like it much. I prefer something more active — I think that helps more with depression, anxiety, and racing thoughts. It needs to be something more dynamic that truly distracts the mind. That’s when I thought of Muay Thai. And since I started Muay Thai, I’ve been improving little by little. I’m learning to truly enjoy it. I’m learning the techniques, I’m making friends. This is a place where people welcome you, and you make friends very quickly. I think even people who are a bit introverted can make friends here. And the classes are really good. I enjoy them a lot, especially on Fridays, when we can do sparring with other students. I think that’s really cool. I’m making new friends, and they’re amazing people — both the coaches and the students. My sleep is slowly getting better. I’m starting to sleep again, I’m not waking up in the middle of the night as often, and when I do, I’m able to fall back asleep. It’s not perfect, but it’s improving little by little. I’m very happy — I’m writing this because I can truly feel the improvement. I’m feeling more confident, my self-esteem is better, I feel safer, and I also have more energy, less stress, less anxiety, and less depression (lack of motivation). I know this will continue to get better — it was just a phase, an experience, a lesson. On top of that, my health is also improving. I’m not getting sick as often as before. And sometime soon, I’ll write another update about how I’m doing, because I really am getting better. If anyone out there is going through something similar, I hope this helps. Everything is going to be okay. I’m here, and I know how hard it is. You are not alone. I’m leaving this comment to try to help — I’m not gaining anything from this. I truly just want to help, because if I had read a comment like this a long time ago, maybe I wouldn’t have gone through half of what I went through. God bless you. I’ll come back later to update this comment and share how I’m doing. I hope you feel comforted by this message. You are not alone. I wrote this on my own (I didn’t use A.I. or anything like that).
Love training at Team Link. I've been training there for about a year now and the progress I've made is amazing thanks to the awesome coaches there. Their attention to detail, ability to break things down for athletes of all levels, and their authenticity truly creates the ideal gym environment. Whether your goal is to be a fighter, get physically fit, or just enjoy a fun hobby, Team Link Muay Thai is the home for everyone.
This is an amazing martial arts facility. The muay thai classes are incredibly structured and move through the week in a format that allows you to be able to use your new techniques during sparring (if you choose to spar). The instructors are helpful and love what they do. It's easy to tell when you're there. Coaches are top notch humans. They are super welcoming and will remember your name and greet you with positive energies every day! I don't have children, but the kids' program looks awesome too. I came for a visit from Florida and did the trial period. When I moved back to MA, I couldn't wait to become a full time member of this community. Thanks TLMT, looking forward to continuing following the way here! 🙏 💪🥊
