Decent place, but basketball court needs to be cleaned more often
Not for women. Was a great gym for months and I was recommending to several people as a good gym. A safe and comfortable gym to workout in. Recently they’ve decided to start implementing a “dress code” that’s geared towards women sayings it’s always been that way even though it’s not posted anywhere. The contact for the center (Jennifer) was very unprofessional when I requested a copy of the rules and regulations. All other gyms in the area and that I’ve ever been to allows for all athletic apparel but for some reason this one does not.
This is a city ran rec center. They have a ton of programs for kids and adults. The weight room has everything you need to get a solid workout. They have plenty for cardio, cable machines and plenty of free weights. The best part is the price. They have day fees all the way to yearly memberships. They are not 24/7 so check to make sure the hours work for you.
We usually only attend for the youth basketball league games. Wish parking was better as on game days being in a neighborhood you have to park on the streets or limited parking in front or behind of the building. This building has been around for years..There has been some upgrade improvements but Columbia really needs to rebuild in a better suited area.
This place is a gem of a gym in the Columbia area. Great staff from Nicole on down. Extremely reasonable prices. Nick’s classes are awesome. He’s like having a private fitness trainer at no extra cost. Rita Ingram rocks, too. She teaches line dancing two nights a week...for FREE! This is great stuff. Who knew? I wish the city’s website included this information. It’s sorely in need of updates. Even with the lack of information, the Armory deserves five stars!
