4/15/26 ALX Boxing Club was a huge disappointment and the program feels very misleading. Their website says it is open to all experience levels, including beginners, and says students train for 6 weeks, with those who are ‘successful’ invited to continue. My son showed up to every single practice, participated, and put his heart into it. At the end of the 6 weeks, there was no callback, no follow-up, and no explanation. What makes this even worse is that my son is not some skinny little kid who couldn’t keep up. He even played football for years. He showed up, worked hard, and gave real effort every single week. We were also told to buy equipment like boxing gloves, hand wraps, a jump rope, and a mouth guard, which we did, so this ended up being a waste of both time and money. If ‘successful’ means something more specific than attendance, effort, and participation, then that should be clearly explained upfront instead of wasting families’ time, money, and leaving kids feeling discouraged. 5/16/26 The website has now been updated. Interesting how the wording suddenly changed after people started questioning it. Unfortunately, editing a website afterward doesn’t undo the fact that it was previously advertised in a misleading way and people already acted on that information.
