Coliseu Boxing is the real deal and such a great find in Powhatan! The workouts are intense in the best way — I always leave feeling like I actually pushed myself. The women’s classes create such an empowering and welcoming environment. I’ve gained so much confidence since starting here. The facility is always clean and well-kept, and Coach Alex makes every session genuinely fun. He has a real gift for pushing you to be better without ever making you feel discouraged. I’ve walked out of every class feeling stronger and more confident than when I walked in. If you’re on the fence, just go — you won’t regret it!

Coliseu Boxing Club 🥊 in Powhatan is an amazing new spot. It’s owned by a high level athlete from Brazil 🇧🇷 who is truly passionate about bringing the sport to the community. I went in for my first class, and it definitely kicked my butt but I loved every minute of it! I’ll definitely be back. Let’s go! 🥊💥
Alex is an excellent coach. On my first day, he pulled me aside for one-on-one coaching, breaking down skills with clear progressions so that a beginner like me could learn proper technique. He’s very knowledgeable and experienced, and the gym is fully equipped for serious boxing. Highly recommend!
As someone who has trained in boxing for over a decade and has been to many gyms over the years I can tell you that coliseu boxing is the real deal. It is a complete and authentic boxing gym. Great equipment including a ring. This gym fills a gap not only for Powhatan but for the areas outside of Richmond where finding a boxing gym that you can get fit or train to compete by a legitimate coach with and impressive background. Alex runs classes that are fun but challenging for all levels. His experience brings unique techniques not commonly taught in this region. With myself being around this sport as long as I have I genuinely appreciate being able to learn these new skills that I believe will give me a competitive edge. I highly recommend checking it out.
