Adam Smith is the best BJJ instructor/coach in the Pacific Northwest. I have been attending classes at Smash BJJ for many years. I love the physical and mental challenge that it provides me. I am constantly learning something new and gaining more control over my body. I feel a deeper connection between what I intend to do and what I achieve in the moment. You learn a lot about yourself in the struggle. I can't express enough how beneficial it is for stress relief and an honest realization of how functional you are in an altercation. BJJ will humble you. I am 6’2.5” and 300lb and I am following along and doing things I did not think my body would let me. The first class is free! It's worth it. My nephew started at the young age of 3 in the #1 kids program available: The Little Dragons class. He is now turning 9 this year and still goes every single week. His older sister started a few years after him and she is about to turn 12. It has increased both of their ability to listen and think critically, and they have better coordination and confidence in themselves as people and athletes. They are very kind children. The environment provided is a safe space that promotes growth and wellbeing for all who attend. My daughter has been going for 3 years and has fallen in love with martial arts and the surrounding communities. She will be turning 15 soon and I sleep better at night knowing she has increased situational awareness from the time spent training Jiu Jitsu at the gym and from competing in tournaments. She has learned to enjoy challenging herself physically and mentally. Respect is learned. Integrity. Determination. Self belief. These are just a few of the phenomenal qualities instilled in my family from attending class at Smash Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The best school around. There are 3 locations. Adam leads with incredible knowledge and intensity, always pushing you to be your best while keeping things fun and engaging. Ashley is supportive, patient, and technically sharp — especially great at breaking things down in a way that clicks. Noah brings a great mix of calm focus and relentless work ethic, making every roll and drill session feel purposeful. Zeke is super approachable, full of positive energy, and always has that one detail that changes everything. And Jaxson is a beast — super technical, high-level instruction with an encouraging, team-first vibe. You can tell each coach genuinely cares about your progress on and off the mats. It's such an amazing place for my son. My son only attended 3 months, up until we moved, but all the coaches were amazing. They were patience with them and still teaching them. They focused all their attention on them. I wish we could have stayed here. I found a new dojo where we live now for my son, and it's not the same. Coach Adam and the rest of the deer park coaches, keep up the great work on these kids!
