I cannot say enough amazing things about the staff and community at Family Strong Sussex. We enrolled our 6 and 10 year old because we felt an instant connection when speaking to the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Klettke. They are interested in what your goals are for your child and family and work hard to address these not only on the mats but in every interaction they have with your family. Our kids love and respect their instructors, which makes them eager to attend class each week. As parents, we are so grateful for the love and care they put into not only the martial arts instruction, but also the life skills they are teaching as well. Our kids have gained confidence, focus, perseverance, flexibility, agility, and stamina that helps them succeed in other sports, family life, and with their friends. Come check them out for yourself! It's an investment in your kids' and your family's future you won't regret.
My son (13 yo) and I have been taking Taekwondo together at Family Strong for a few months now, and I can't say enough about our experience. When I first called to inquire about the classes, Meg spent over 30 minutes with me on the phone explaining how their program focused on pediatric development was different from some of the other schools out there. When we went for our free trial class, my son IMMEDIATELY felt at ease and had a great time. Even though it's definitely structured and respect and discipline are required, it's not the "drill sergeant" way of martial arts that scared me off when I was young. My son has tried many sports, but never found his "thing." He's got some physical developmental issues- short hamstrings and a pretty weak core, and the programs have modifications for him that work beautifully. To watch his physical ability improve is awesome, but to see the confidence build week after week, and the life skills he learns that spill over into his personal and academic life- well, you can't put a price on that. I love that I can take the class with him and practice our skills together at home. Alex and Meg Klettke have built something truly special in Sussex, and we are so happy to have found them.
My son has been going to Family Strong Sussex for about 2 and a half years now and he loves it. They care so much about the kids and what they do. Everything is family orientated. They have an amazing atmosphere to be around. The owners are very accommodating and work hard on the individual needs of each family.
I highly recommend Family Strong Sussex for many reasons. Family Strong Sussex does not only teach taekwondo, they teach many life skills such as intellectual, social, emotional and physical stages of growth and development. My daughter (7) has been with the Family Strong Sussex family for about a year and a half and has grown so much. They taught her respect, discipline and most importantly confidence. The level of confidence, growth and maturity that she has obtained through Family Strong is amazing. The instructors are not just instructors, they make you feel like family. They are very well organized and are continuously looking out for the best interest of their members. They truly make you feel like you are part of their family. We are proud to be "NinjaStrong"
Family Strong Sussex maintains a structured, organized, and enjoyable environment for students of all ages to learn Taekwondo. The instructors are knowledgeable and the training is professional. Expectations are clear, class time is well-utilized, and safety is maintained during lessons. All ages and skill levels are accommodated. Performance standards are clear and belts must be earned. My child has been training here since 2018 and loves it. I highly recommend Family Strong Sussex.
