I started doing Muay Thai here 5 months ago after trying several other gyms. As a beginner, what sold me about the place was that the training partners and coaches were all accommodating of where I was starting from. Couldn’t throw a kick? Didn’t matter. Couldn’t remember the full combo? Didn’t matter. As long as I was trying my best with what I had, I found that I improved little by little over time with the coaches’ instructions. I highly encourage beginners to start here!
I was learning kickboxing and Muay Thai for the first time when I joined this gym. I was really nervous at first but they were so welcoming and so inclusive! I think this is the best gym I could have joined to learn for the first time. The instructors all all amazing and so great at adapting, whether it be a difference in injuries or skill levels. Be ready to get a good workout and have a lot of fun! 😁
I love Fighting Fit so much! I’ve been at the gym for a year and a half and everyone has been super welcoming and I always leave class feeling like I both learned something and got a great workout. Coach Sydney's women's class on Fridays has been a highlight for me. Coach Corey, Coach Nate, and all of the instructors are amazing and I can’t recommend the gym enough!
I've been training at fighting fit for more than 2 years now and I can say I love this place, the culture is great, it's the kind of environment where people help each other grow and get better at martial arts, pushing their ego to the sides and truly focusing on learning and improving. I also really like that you can have a very comprehensive martial arts training all the way from striking, kickboxing, muay thai, jeet kune do, grappling (brazilian jiu jitsu) etc!. Coach Forrest and Coach Corey are both extremely good coaches, very experienced, safety conscious and foster an environment of trust and make the clases FUN!. I'm also a big fan of their private lessons which are very accomodating to busy schedules like mine. People here come to learn from each other, not to beat each other, and that's a great thing.
Walking into a new gym as a woman—especially in a male-dominated sport like jiu jitsu—can feel intimidating and scary. Bur Fighting Fit has been incredible! The coaches are respectful and patient; they do a great job of pushing you to challenge yourself but also taking time to make sure you feel comfortable and safe learning the techniques. And it's not just the coaches! The students that come here are welcoming and encouraging. I have never felt unsafe partnering with another male student. Training partners are supportive, not egotistical, and there’s a strong emphasis on learning and improving rather than just “winning” rounds. Fighting Fit does a great job of creating an environment where women can grow in confidence, skill, and fitness. If you’re on the fence about trying jiu jitsu, I’d absolutely recommend Fighting Fit. It’s a great place to learn self-defense, get stronger, and be part of a supportive community.
