I currently have to take them to small claims court to sue. They took me to collections after an aggressive pretty much con artist salesman wouldn't let me just cancel my membership. Yes, literally would not let me cancel my membership. Instead, sold me on coercion to just suspend my membership for 3 months, and if I didn't want to come back it would be fine. I don't come back, and after 3 months payments kick in without me knowing about it a long time. Now, the reason I was cancelling is because I'm handicapped. ADA. A prosthetic arm and a neurological difference. I hadn't gone to their gym in about 6 months while I'm paying for a membership. I just couldn't even get there due to an abusive work environment and my disabilities both physical and neuro. So on top of 6 months of free money. They pull this. I talked to the gym manager thinking he would be professional about it. After I say I'm not paying it, he doesn't say he will stop the payment, he just kind of acts defeated and nonchalant about it. Then I get hit harder by his lawyer team from collections. Calling me everyday leaving messages on my phone taking up space. The usual debt collection type tactics. I am writing a formal letter to both this attorney company that I am Americans with disabilities act, as well as this gym is getting a formal email that I am Americans with disabilities act and this is how I was treated. If this does not get handled promptly and the charges get dropped, there will be a lawsuit with this gym. It's not always the biggest who wins, that's what they need to figure out while they are pumping weights. It's the smartest who knows what they are doing, not the most aggressive. I recommend going for walks in your own neighborhood and doing stretches in your own house. Yoga can actually do everything that a gym can and more, little secret. Or, there is One Life gym now open not far away at all unless you have the misfortune of living right next to the Mall of Georgia and walk..to the gym..then walk back home. Not likely.
CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS I had a membership AND personal training. My personal trainer quit and I decided to freeze my training and only do my normal membership for a while. I ended up moving, and in August I decided to cancel everything all together. They informed me that since my PT had been frozen I was still due on payments which I completely understood and agreed to pay my monthly PT fee until I was paid off (which would have been October). When my last payment in October came around I called twice to confirm that I was fully paid off, up to date on everything, and that nothing else was needed from my end. They told me I was fine, fully paid off, and that they would sign on my behalf since I moved out of state. I took their word for it and believed I was done until I noticed that I was charged in NOVEMBER and DECEMBER. 2 extra months that I was not supposed to be billed for, not liable for, and not aware of (I was told I was finished and had nothing else to do). I have been calling and emailing since December and they have bounced my calls back and forth, denied my refund of over $100 due to the “10 day cancellation policy” (which makes no sense with my cancellation dates AND confirming with them that I was fully paid off and canceled), and being told there’s nothing they can do for me even though ITS 100% THEIR MISTAKE AND MISCOMMUNICATION WITH THEMSELVES. Check your bank accounts for extra, unaccounted for, and dishonest charges from them because they are 100% going to steal from you if they have the chance. BTW: our trainer informed us that a member was caught pleasing himself in the “dance fitness room” that looks over the entire gym and he was not reprimanded or even charged. He even got to keep his membership. Do with that information what you will.
One of the better gyms in the Buford area in terms of modern equipment. Can get quite crowded and parking spaces fill up fast in the evenings. They need to do better at synchronizing the many TV screens in the gym to the AudioFetch app. There are no exhaust fans above the toilet stalls in the mens locker room. The odor in the mens locker room can often be like falling into a sewer pipe.
Crunch Buford has great trainers who are friendly and knowledgeable, and the machine area is in good condition. That said, the TRX area needs improvement. There is a noticeable bad odor, and it’s common to see hair and nails on the floor. Better cleaning in this section would really improve the overall gym experience.
Great gym. Machines are pristine and plentiful, the locker rooms are clean and smell good, tons of cardio options. The spacing on the floor is nice so it doesn’t get too crowded, and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff. Specifically Brenna and Patrick are both great, meet you with a smile, and very personable. You can tell they value their clientele and take pride in what they do. Genuinely one of the best gyms I’ve been to.
