I worked out here while on vacation with my family and it’s a pretty good gym! They’re working on expanding so the gym is currently separated in two buildings (one mainly with free weights and cable machines and one mainly with cardio equipment and machines) but they’re in walking distance between each other and both have ample amounts of equipment to get a great workout in! We went early in the morning throughout the week so it wasn’t busy, usually 2-3 other people at the most. Will definitely come back next time I visit!
5th Ave has everything you need—don’t let the size deter you! The bathrooms were clean all three days we visited Seward. I can’t remember who helped us at the front desk, but the whole process was quick. The door codes ensure you have access whenever you want it. We went twice in the morning and once in the afternoon, and we didn’t have to wait for equipment at any point. I really recommend this place if you are staying in the area on vacation.
I am a semipro strongman. There are many smaller gyms that ask me to not train there either because I intimidate other clients or they just can’t accommodate me. It’s understandable. I had to do a few weeks ago job in Seward but I was also in training for Nationals. I called Fred and he was more than accommodating. He let me train there and even helped me perform my heavy lifts by offering me additional equipment and making sure everything he had could handled the weight. The worst problem was the dumbbells only go to 90 lbs and I’d say that’s a good problem to have if that’s all I could say about the gym. Otherwise, decent smaller gym. You can get a full workout in without any problems. Gets crowded when busy but everyone was very cool. Anytime I’m working near Seward I’ll be sure to stop in and get a training session in. He even hung a picture of me up! Thanks Fred for helping me and letting me train in your gym so I would be ready for Nationals! Have Fun, Be Good and Stay Strong!!!
Great place to work out. There's two buildings. One has cardio and the other one has weights. There's enough squat bars and racks to go around at least 10 or 12 people in there without having to bump into someone.
LOVE this gym. Meet great people there all the time, the owner is very interactive with members, very informative, and always giving positive reinforcement to/ encourage everyone while we are working out. The staff is very much the same, they take the time to talk to each person one on one. Owner and staff are there for everyone, not just a business for them they genuinely care about everyone getting healthy and staying that way. Its pretty cool. This is hands down the best gym I have been a member of.
