Dropped in for open mat while in town and had a great experience at Black Tie Jiu-Jitsu Tallahassee. Everyone was very welcoming from the moment I walked in. Shane was especially friendly and made sure I felt comfortable right away. Got in some great rolls, the gym is very clean, and the overall atmosphere was top-notch. Highly recommend if you’re visiting or looking for a solid place to train.

Incredible environment build on fundamental principles through an accelerated learning format with safety prioritized. Recommend to anyone thinking of taking their first step in BJJ or looking for a new BJJ home.

In town for work and looking for a place to train. Shane was responsive and welcoming. Was able to make the Monday night class. The training and atmosphere were good. Would highly recommend.

After almost a year of training here I've found that there's no other school like what Shane has at Black Tie Tallahassee. A long time martial arts practitioner, Shane brings invaluable knowledge, experience, and attention to the mats every day for the benefit of his students. The only regret I have is that I didn't start training sooner.
