Coach lugo has one of the best gyms ive been to in years. Had my first visit today, and ran myself into the ground. He pays attention to us, gives feedback and keeps the intensity up. The culture seems amazing and from everything ive seen, this is an old school boxing gym. Dedication, hardwork and discipline are expected. I couldn't ask for more.
This gym is sooo dope — a real gem for boxing enthusiasts and professionals! 🥊 The trainers and equipment are top-tier, but what really makes Lugo Boxing & Fitness special is the energy. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed, encouraged, and respected — which meant a lot as a woman stepping into a male-dominated sport. I originally wanted to compete in the Border Wars tournament but couldn’t match an opponent, but, I had the honor of training and sparring for a few days with their team — and it was such an amazing experience I’m still gushing about! The workouts were insane (in the best way), and I’ve already started incorporating them into my own routine. Boxing will change your body and your life if you let it, But this is not cardio boxing at all, this is combat self defense!🥊💥 I learned so much in such a short time, and everyone was incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. The facility is spotless (huge plus!), and the atmosphere is all about focus, grit, and passion. Although I didn’t get to compete, sparring alongside another amazingly tough woman meant everything — thank you for making that happen and giving me that space to grow. Mike and the coaches make you dig deep to find your “why do you fight,” and I left not only a couple of inches smaller at the waist, but stronger, sharper, and more confident in my ability to protect myself if need be so. 💪 It’s a private gym, so if you ever get an invite… RUN — don’t walk! A boxer's Paradise. I contacted lugo on Instagram when a friend recommended this gym after they won their first match at an event here. I asked would you train an adult with little to no experience. The response was "if they fit the program". After a week or so of working out their I was accepted into the gym and I can't say enough positive things about this place. Always pushing us to be better and a true family atmosphere.
