My wife and kids trained at CSC for a while, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about this gym. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping everyone improve, whether you’re a complete beginner or have years of experience. Very realistic expectations and great communication. The atmosphere is welcoming, motivating, and respectful. Everyone pushes each other to get better without the ego. The instruction is detailed and professional, and you can tell the staff truly care about both technique and safety. Uniformity isn't the priority, growth is. The facility is clean, well-organized, and has a great energy every time I walk in. Classes are challenging in the best way possible, and I’ve gained not only better fitness and skillsets, but a lot of confidence. If you’re in the Manhattan area and looking for high-quality martial arts or combat sports training, I highly recommend checking this place out. Easily one of the best gyms and communities I’ve been a part of. The negative reviews are likely due to naysayers, emotional instabilities, and people thinking that they were walking into a Taekwondo gym.
The most fun and awesome thing I have done in many years. I played a lot of tennis growing up. But this just blows it out of the park. All the people there are super kind and chill.
It costs 190 a month and once you sign up they will not stop charging you even if you cancel - also the place stinks and is filthy, matts not wiped down, shared equipment not sanitized. Portal runs on its own with one overseeing it it seems. Buyer beware you can join a gym for $35 a month!
It's somewhat insanitary here with ringworm, and gloves not cleaned regularly (and shared). We also had many billing issues, being charged months after we cancelled. Slightly unstructured environment. My son's friend got hurt, many high schoolers. We won't be back due to the money they owe us still. Sad that people are so greedy when they should use ethical business practices. On a legal level - contact is contact and whether you call or write, it means "cancel". If I wrote a letter saying I wanted to cancel that is legal communication. One cannot as a business simply say "oh you did not use the app therefore your cancellation letter does not count" - yea that won't fly in real life. Can't recommend - it is run by folks not experienced in running a business (who want an app to run the business side and payments that never end!) and or professional cleaning. I wander what the health department would find here if they tested the matts and shared equipment like gloves that they never clean.......I wonder if the IRS knows about this "business"....
Avoid this place – unethical billing and no customer service I regret signing up here. They continued charging me $200/month even after I stopped going and asked to cancel. In March alone, I was charged $192 three times — nearly $600 — with no explanation and no refund despite multiple attempts to reach out via calling text and email. What’s worse, I was billed for 8 months (over $1,400) without stepping foot in the gym. I tried canceling through every available method — phone, email, text, their portal — and got no response. Their system doesn’t even clearly show your subscription status, and there’s zero customer support. Yes, the gym might offer decent training, but it’s massively overpriced. Most good gyms charge $30–$50/month — this one is just not worth the cost or the hassle. You’re better off hiring a trainer occasionally and joining a reasonably priced gym. right now we are working on a BBB complaint and credit card dispute - these people are not good people.
