Having zero experience with grappling, wrestling, or any combat sport, I had no idea what I was getting into. However, each coach is very patient and gives personal attention to each practitioner, regardless of skill level. I’ve been attending classes for 8 months, and have loved every class. Also, my son attends the kids classes and he is progressing and having a great time. The coaches have been taught by the best, but are extremely humble and kind. I would recommend Daniel Gracie jiu-jitsu to anyone, at any age, and at any experience level. There is no better martial arts academy in Michigan.
I’ve been training with Daniel Gracie Team Michigan at the Holland location for 2 years. The coaching staff is amazing, and support each individual athlete to reach their own goals. The team is competition-oriented, but also supports those who just need to stay in shape, learn, or find a group to socialize with. I am forever grateful for the amount that I’ve learned from training here, and for how hard I’ve been pushed to improve my skills.
Great place to learn Jiu-Jitsu and get some intense exercise. Amazing group of people and very welcoming to new-comers. The coaches are very well articulated and very friendly to be around. Highly recommend checking DG out if you want to learn jiu jitsu.
I've tried so many gyms and sports, and enjoyed plenty of them, but I've never been so consistently excited to train as I have been since starting jiu jitsu. Every coach in the Daniel Gracie Team Michigan schools has something valuable to bring to class. The more intimate class size at the Holland location guarantees that I'll get the coaching and advice that I need. Everyone who coaches and attends has been welcoming since day one (even when they're trying to choke you, haha). No looking back, no leaving - I love training here!!
Cody is one of the best jiu-jitsu instructors I e had the pleasure of sharing the mats with. The school is a natural outcome of what happens when a person like him builds a culture of healthy competition and camaraderie. Cody could open a gym anywhere in the world and find success so this location in Holland is incredibly lucky to have him. I’d give him and the school 6 out of 5 stars if I could
