I just started going to this gym and I can say that I really enjoy it. I have about a month of BJJ experience and this gym has been amazing for me as a beginner. The coaches are welcoming and friendly with everyone. They also have classes for more experienced individuals. I highly recommend this gym to people of all levels, they have very experienced coaches that can help everybody improve!

I can't say enough good things about Black Diamond BJJ. I started doing this in my 40s and they could not have been more welcoming. Not only the instructors, but the community as a whole have been eager to teach and help me improve. My only regret is that I didn't start years ago, but being here now I cannot imagine a better place to train. Whether you're new in town and looking for a gym to continue training, wanting to get started, or even just curious about BJJ, please don't hesitate to come on over, their schedule is online. If you're anything like me, you've been sitting around trying to build up the courage to go. Don't be like me, just go, you'll be glad you did.

As a blue belt who has trained at most of the gyms in the Reno/Sparks area, I can confidently say that Black Diamond offers some of the best—if not the best—instruction, coaching, and attention to detail. The coaches take the time to work with you individually, making it a great environment for both hobbyists and those looking to compete. While it’s not as rigidly traditional as some other gyms, it still respects that aspect. Plus, it has the largest mat space I’ve seen so far, and Ryan keeps it clean and staph free.

If you're looking for a friendly, fun, and family feeling environment, Black Diamond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the place to be, if you want to learn BJJ for personal reasons like Self-Defense, Sport Competitions, and/or exercise for getting in and/or back into shape, come and visit BDBJJ, they have a handful folks there that can give you advice to live a healthier better lifestyle.

As the saying goes, "Iron sharpens Iron", and the team at Black Diamond are an amazing bunch of highly skilled jiu-jitsu practitioners of all skill levels and belt ranks. I am very thankful to be a part of this team and train with such solid people whom I have grown to call my friends. Coach John 'Magoo' Villarruel and Coach Ryan Jennerjohn do a great job at fostering a family like environment. The school is always kept clean and the mat space is incredible! I highly recommend dropping in and checking the team out.
