This is a REAL boxing gym! I stopped by last week for a drop in since I just moved to the area and was greeted by the owner Eric upon entering. He is very friendly and makes sure everyone feels welcome. The gym has a great selection of bags and incredibly knowledgeable coaches. Their options are very affordable and reasonable. There is a high level of skill that exists in that gym and I would highly recommend every one check it out and join!
Big shout to hell gates boxing gym and coach Eric and his team of experts super welcoming environment and if you really serious about getting better this is the place and it’s affordable to for sure they really focus on building fighters or even people who just wanna train you will see improvement
“HellGate.” If the badass name isnt enough to pique your curiosity and get you in the door, I’m here to tell you that you’re missing out. Coach Eric and his team run a tight ship, and they are damn good at what they do. It’s refreshing because they genuinely love and are passionate about boxing—it comes across when they are teaching or if you are even just chatting about a recent fight on TV. Make no mistake, this is NOT a bootie-bootcamp style boxing gym, this is the real thing and you will WORK. The gym is fully equipped for boxing, weights, cardio and conditioning, and is very fairly priced. This place is an absolute gem amongst the slew of other cut-and-paste boxing gyms in NYC. I absolutely cannot say enough positive things about Hellgate. But don’t listen to a stranger on the internet, come over and try it yourself!

Finally!! A proper legit boxing gym in Astoria! And I must say it’s by far my favorite boxing gym in queens hands down! Run by coaches Joey and Eric who are brilliant, dedicated, very experienced/seasoned, well versed coaches with a vast knowledge of boxing history and an elite stable of fighters! Great environment, Great vibe and an incredible interior that really highlights and emphasized the Astoria queens vibe! Whether you’re brand new and want to learn how to box, you’re an amateur or pro who wants top of the line coaching, or somebody who just wants to get a great workout, Hellgate is the place to be! They also offer classes for those who prefer a group setting!
