This is an excellent place to train Shawn really wants to see everyone succeed he is helpful to people of all skills and treats everyone with respect. His style of teaching is unique and is more fun and practical than what other gyms in the area are teaching
I can’t recommend this gym enough! The environment is welcoming, respectful, and motivating. Shawn is not only highly skilled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu but also an excellent teacher who is patient, committed, and truly cares about helping every student improve. He takes the time to break things down in a way that’s easy to understand, and you can tell he’s passionate about sharing his knowledge. Whether you’re brand new to BJJ or have experience, this is the perfect place to train, grow, and feel supported. Definitely a 5-star experience!
My 10 year old boy has been having a great experience these first few months and so glad we started coming here. Learning jiu-jitsu and self defense is super important for anyone and would recommend joining here. Great for all kids but especially great for kids with a lot of energy.
Shawn is an excellent coach and teacher. My kids love going and look forward to each session every week. The whole team is patient and kind to all the kids and are committed to making them better. I would refer everyone I know adults and kids alike to come train with Shawn.
I am very happy to see that Shawn has his own academy. He has been very, very successful on the competion level, both gi and no-gi. He really knows grappling: the principles, the variations, application to self defense. Very good trainer. One of the nicest people I've ever met and grappled with.
