I want to give this Gym an amazing review. They have been Great. My mother-in-law and my family and I all come here. It’s clean they have all the equipment you can ask for from cardio to free weights to machines. Their Family swim times are perfect. They are very helpful and inviting and making everybody feel included
Alright, so I've been a memberof this gym for a little over 2 years now. Overall, I think its a good gym with affordable options, plenty of machines, and decent amenities. It's great to see the gym being upgraded and seeing that they actually maintain their machines. With that being said, lets talk about the pool area/downstairs locker room. The ladies locker room is actually pretty clean, toilets look clean everytime I've gone, no foul smells. The sauna is very clean, and although it makes no sense to me as to why we can't toss water on the rocks, I still find it to be a nice little sauna. The showers however...are kinda gross. There's mold on all of the curtains, and the shower walls look like they just never get wiped down. There's a lot of rust/stains on the tiles as well, and there's a 50/50 chance that you shower in a stall with stinky floor matts. The pool area is modest but nice. The pool is heated but not too hot, and I appreciated the ability to still swim when the heat for the pool went out once about a year or 2 ago. Hot tub and steam room are good temps too. Now, my hang ups about the pool area is that there is a lack of etiquette and following rules, which in turn leads to a dirty pool area. Other gym members will go from lifting weights in the gym, straight to the steam room multiple times without showering and getting into swimwear, which, ew. When there's family swim time, I've observed families letting their toddlers into the hot tub, steam room, and cold plunge, as recent as last week. No one showers, kids are in diapers, and tissue is being thrown on the ground of the pool area. Parents and kids blow their noses in the water, and you can SEE the build up of dirt and bacteria. Even though there's clear signage to shower before entering, and that there are no kids under 12 allowed in the hottub, its not being followed. It would be nice to have someone check the pool area every hour to ensure rules are being followed. I get that it can be hard to do, but it's just gross how it seems like rules fly out the window when it comes to the pool area. I've been looking for other gyms to try out because of this, but I really don't want to leave lyft, the smoothies are so good. So, 3 stars because pool area/showers are looking kinda bleak. Edit: I really hate to be that guy, but what happened yesterday brought my rating down to 2 stars. As I was getting into the hottub, another member of the gym was in the hottub, trying her best to ignore two very young kids, (couldn't be older than 7) literally cannonballing into the tub, while FIVE other kids under 12 were crowding the tub. These kids were not making room and even I wondered if they'd give me a chance to try to get in. They did one big cannonball that sent water flying everywhere and onto this lady's phone and she finally gets up, raises her voice and asks who kids were they, and only then did the parents get up to do something, while the five other kids got out as well. I salute her. This is the big issue with family swim time though. Parents aren't parenting, and lyft is turning a blind eye to this type of dangerous behavior. I'm all for family night, I don't mind the pool being taken over and I know to expect that on during family swim, but I think responsibility should fall on staff to reinforce some rules surrounding the pool area because what happened yesterday was not okay. She should not have been the one to enforce the hottub rules during family swim time. It's also terrifying to watch 2-3 year olds teeter on the edge of the tub with no parents in sight after having been in the tub with his parents earlier (this happened last week). Something needs to change and I hope it does, I really like this gym, but I'm afraid my search for another gym has begun.
By far my favorite gym. The equipment is clean and well maintained, all of the members are kind, helpful and supportive of each other and the staff is kind, attentive and knowledgeable. I am so glad I decided to join here.
I go to the Silver Sneakers Class for all of us old farts 3x per week. I have to say that I have been enjoying this class immensely. Our instructor, Kayla, challenges us every single class. I really love that about her. It didn't take me long to discover both my weaknesses and strengths while moving through the exercises we go through which are intentionally designed to help strengthen and improve our mobility & flexibility as we age. The club as a whole offers classes for everyone. So in essence, if you are just beginning your fitness program or are a seasoned athlete, you will find the instructors and tools to help you get to your ultimate goals.
I’ve been coming to Lyft Fitness for almost two years now, and at this point I feel like I owe them a review. Because places like this do not happen by accident. This place runs on what I call the Three C’s: cleanliness, culture, and consistency. And Lyft nails all three like it’s their job… which I guess it is, but still, they do it better than anyone around. First off, the staff is elite. Every time you walk in, they hit you with a smile so genuine you start wondering if you accidentally did something impressive. They greet you like you’re Norm walking into Cheers. Chris especially, this guy is the real deal. He’s the kind of person who remembers your name, your goals, probably your deadlift PR, and somehow makes you believe today’s the day you’re gonna set a new one. Shoutout to you, man. You’re the engine in this place. Now let’s talk about how insanely clean this gym is. Gyms don’t stay this spotless unless there’s a squad of muscular Keebler elves scrubbing everything down at 3 a.m. And I swear that’s what’s happening here. The floors shine, the equipment looks new, the bathrooms don’t smell like a high school locker room… it’s incredible. The sauna and the men’s and women’s locker rooms? Perfect for post workout recovery. The newly renovated steam room hits different in these wet Portland winters. You step in there and instantly forget the city has been raining sideways for six months. The pool is fantastic too. I bring my young daughters almost every weekend and they love it. Meanwhile, I’m floating around pretending I’m doing “active recovery.” And the weight rooms? Everything you could want and then some. Dumbbells, machines, racks, cables… all of it clean, functional, and never feeling like a yard sale of mismatched equipment. Lyft Fitness is the real deal. Great people, great vibe, great facility. If you’re looking for a gym where you feel welcomed, supported, and never grossed out, this is the spot. And Chris *seriously* thank you for setting the tone every single day. You make this place what it is
Aaron, thank you so much for the wonderful review. Were a family owned gym, and the employees are treated well. Happy employees are the secret to customer service. And secretly, we do have elves that come in and clean at night. Her name is Maka and she's the best there is! But shhh...don't tell anyone. We also have some amazing other employees that work behind the scenes making everything sparkle, and run well. We try really hard to provide the service everyone enjoys. We are human, so mistakes happen now and then, but we try very hard to make our members happy. Thank you for being a part of the Lyft Family.
