I have a lot of respect for the martial arts, but my experience here as a beginner was incredibly disappointing. Finding the location within the industrial complex was difficult, parking was a challenge, and the onboarding was nonexistent. **UPDATE:** The business responded claiming I was late and missed the introduction. To clarify: I was exactly 2 minutes late, solely because I spent 30 minutes driving around trying to find their poorly marked location in the industrial complex where there was zero parking. Instead of being greeted with understanding, I was immediately confronted about being 2 minutes late and interrogated about not having a gym bag. The gym’s defensive response only reinforces the exact vibe I felt during the class—the entire experience with the instructor was rooted in arrogance, not coaching. A good academy helps a first-time student navigate a confusing setup; they don't use a 120-second delay as an excuse for poor onboarding and physical rag-dolling. My opinion stands. Despite this being my first-ever introduction session, no information was provided to me ahead of time. I was immediately made to feel out of place when staff asked where my "gear and bag" were upon arrival (having done Karate in the past, a Gi was always provided or explained beforehand). I'm not a complete beginner in the martial arts. As I explained to the instructor, I did take karate in the past and I lived in Asia for over 4 years and studied different more meditative arts. **ADDITIONAL DETAIL:** To give you an idea of the "coaching" style here: when the instructor decided to use me for a demonstration, he did it in total, awkward silence. He put me through several minutes of physical maneuvers without explaining a single concept or technique. Finally, out of sheer confusion, I had to break the silence and ask, "What are you expecting of me?" An instructor’s job is to communicate and teach, not silently manhandle a student. I was paired up with two awesome guys who were half my weight, nearly 70 years old (not my age by 10+ years), and understandably terrified of getting hurt. They wanted to practice a specific form that I had never been taught, leaving me confused and uncomfortable. To top it off, about 45 minutes into the session, the instructor finally stepped in—not to teach me the fundamentals, but to essentially wrap me up as a rag doll with minimal instructions on techniques I didn’t understand. As an overweight and out of shape Jui Jitsu beginner working on my stamina, I left feeling completely drained and discouraged. It felt less like a class and more like being thrown into the deep end of a river without being taught how to swim. I love the art, but the coaching and lack of intro structure here completely missed the mark for a new student.

This gym has it all! If you want to get back into shape, try the kettlebell program. Coach Saiko is amazing and a very patient instructor. My wife had never lifted a kettlebell in her life, but now she looks forward to class every week and has noticed significant improvement. BJJ with Coach Eric and Coach Saiko offers everything you could want: teamwork, commitment, passion, and dedication. They truly take the time to ensure you understand and learn the techniques. Even if you’re advanced in jiu jitsu, rolling with the higher belts at the gym is an amazing experience. There is no arrogance, no disrespect, and no “I’m better than you mentality”. Stop by K2 for a trial session you won’t regret it

Great Experience! Only went there for 2 days. This doesn't get to do with the gym but it has to do with me being away from the team because I had mental health issues but the head Coach and the kids, fighter Abu are good kids. They work with you. I don't mind coming in here to fight with them if i'm down in weight 60 lbs dieting but it will take time. Thanks team!

I started coming to the gym when I was 40, and it was new to me. There’s always a great atmosphere for leaning, for all ages and levels. If you’re looking for; self defense, to get in shape or to compete, this is the gym you want.

I went in for my free introductory experience and I really enjoyed it. He is very chill and laid back. Not pushy or aggressive. I felt comfortable working with him and thought that he gave great instructions. He is also super patient which put me at ease. I have dyslexia and most people get annoyed by my confusion of right to left movements but I didn't read that on him at all. My girlfriend hung out and observed and had really great things to say about what she noticed after we left. We are both signing up and are looking forward to attending. We thought it was just boxing but its much more than that and that was a pleasant surprise. I think I am making a great choice and so does she......So because Google reviews wont let me write a secondary review I have added to this one. We have been going for a few weeks now and absolutely love it. The owners, Eric and Saiko, are really great trainers. Its an enjoyable atmosphere. I would recommend coming in for a trial and getting a feel for it yourself. I believe you will enjoy the experience. We are happy to be members.
