Kicks has been a wonderful space for my son. He is 11 and is on the spectrum and this has been a great space for him to learn how to defend himself and push his own limits! The instructors are patient and know when to push your kid to do more, in very positive ways. Kicks has been great for my son and I cant wait to see how much he will grow continuing in the classes!
Kicks Unlimited offers a wonderful experience for young children who are looking to learn structure, earn recognition, build self-esteem, and, of course, have the opportunity to represent themselves authentically on the mat. We have such a great time with Kicks and truly appreciate everything they do.
It was six years ago when my son first stepped foot as a little ninja on the mats of Kicks Unlimited. Over time, I've watched him develop many positive life skills at the guiding hands of these wonderful instructors. Their patience, empathy and determination bleeds into each and every student. It goes without saying that martial arts teach more than simply self-defense, and I watch that with each passing day, appreciating the difference they make in so many lives. I myself began my martial arts journey when I was very young, and I strayed from it long ago. Watching my son's journey rekindled a desire to renew my own. In the summer I joined Degnan Sensei and the Matayoshi Kobudo Kodokan International organization, learning the arts of traditional Okinawan weapon combat at Kicks Unlimited. In a very short period of time, both students and teachers have become more than acquaintances, but an extension of family. The care for each other both on and off the mats is real. The knowledge and skills gained by both my son and I, the relationships we build, and the experiences we have will be something I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Saigetsu hito o matazu. In a literal translation means time and tide wait for no man. Time flows regardless of human convenience. If you wait for the "perfect" moment, that moment will simply pass you by. I encourage you not to let the moment pass you by. If even an ounce of curiosity or passion for the martial arts resides in your heart, then the family at Kicks Unlimited will help you in both discovery and growth.
Kicks Unlimited is a great place, the instructors are honest and patient. They make sure the student grows every class. Kicks Unlimited also has a variety of different classes to keep things fresh and new. It always sparks new interest in students and makes sure they gave challenge to students for them to change for the better. All in all I recommend Kicks Unlimited for anyone who has an interest in karate or just wants to take classes.
We love kicks! My son is enthusiastic about attending summer camp at Kicks and karate classes as well. He loves the trips they take during summer camp. They keep him active, engaged, and focused. His confidence has grown with the progression he's made in karate and the coaches and teachers are very encouraging.
