Crunch fitness called with promotion, so I accepted 5 memberships. However Was shown the property once upon signing 2 days later, things happened in the business. And we were going under and I had reached out and was told that the lady would email the person and cancel I followed up about a month and a 1 later and was told the same thing I forgot about it. 7 months later. I found them debiting my business account. I tried to get a resolution as I had not utilized.Any of gym services and had done my due diligence. By twice, trying to cancel, gotta hold of the lady that signed us up. And she reached out to corporate all as they would say, is there would cancel, but they're still keeping 7 months of unearned payment. I don't mind paying for services that I got, but I do mind paying for things. Not got crunch, fitness is a rip-off. There's lots of gyms around.I would avoid this one like the plague
I regularly visit Crunch Fitness, and while I appreciate a lot about the gym, this location can be a bit overwhelming. It’s a pretty large gym, but because it’s in the St. Pete area, it sees significantly higher foot traffic than the Crunch I usually go to, and even that one feels busy to me at times. Unless you can beat the after-work wave or get there at 5 AM or in the middle of the day, it can be tough to have a relaxed workout experience. That said, there’s a lot to like. They have a great variety of machines and solid equipment, and the value is hard to beat. Crunch is genuinely one of the most cost-effective gyms out there, especially if you take advantage of the exercise classes, which is honestly the main reason I keep my membership. I’m a big fan of Zumba, and classes like Pilates and yoga are great too (though they’re getting popular, so it can be a little harder to get a spot). This visit was for a regular workout, and I do find the crowd at this location a bit much for my personal preference. I used to go to the YMCA, and in comparison, Crunch often feels overstimulating enough to deincentivize me from going in. I’ll keep coming back for the classes, though, those are absolutely worth it. Overall, a solid gym with great value and good equipment. If you don’t mind a busy crowd or you primarily come for classes, you’ll love it here!
I really love this place. The facility is clean, the atmosphere is motivating, and overall it’s a great environment to train. Staff and members make it feel welcoming, and I genuinely enjoy coming here. One piece of constructive feedback: I attended the HIIT class on Thursday at 6 PM, and there was a situation that could be improved. Some participants were adjusting exercises to match their personal fitness level by adding weight or slightly modifying movements to make them more challenging. The instructor became upset and stated that modifying exercises was “disrespectful” and that everyone needed to do exactly what was programmed. While I understand the importance of structure and safety in group classes, fitness levels vary widely. Many members modify exercises either to scale down or to increase intensity based on their ability and goals. I believe instructors should offer options for beginners and advanced participants rather than discouraging adjustments. Flexibility helps members feel supported and keeps classes inclusive. At one point, the instructor mentioned that if participants didn’t follow exactly, then the class might not be for them. Personally, I think group fitness works best when coaching adapts to clients — not the other way around. Overall, I still enjoy the gym very much and hope this feedback helps continue improving an already great community.
It’s a great gym. New stuff, good layout, lots of room. The sauna genuinely smells like toe fungus though. Renovation is also at a crawling speed. Once they get the renovation done, the place will be awesome and offer more services. As long as they can hire someone to maybe clean the sauna every once in a while this place will be elite
1st the good: equipment choice here is stellar. In the last year they’ve added loads of new, high-quality equipment. Tons of dumbbells, ranging well past weights I am ways away from using. They also offer group fitness classes, hydro massage (these are dope), and tanning beds (these I’ve heard mixed reviews about). Overall the gym looks cool, feels fun, and has everything you need with some extras. Now for the bad: There are simply too many people at this gym at a given time. Even in the wee hours of the morning you will end up waiting for a squat rack, a machine, anything. The parking lot is a nightmare. Based solely on the parking lot experience, I believe this to be the busiest shopping center in all of st. pete. (on the bright side you can get some extra steps on your way in and out) maybe 2 out of 10 people who work there will ever actually say hello or greet you (unless they know you or are selling you personal training). I always say hello and it’s kind of a bummer to be ignored most of the time. At the beginning, they will try to sign you up for personal training. I might’ve gone for it too! However, the person I spoke with wasn’t actually listening to me. They were just spouting off generic lines from a script. Big turn off for me. To sum up: this is both the coolest and worst Crunch I’ve been to. Tyrone, Seminole, and Countryside are all smaller, but actually usable most of the time. 5 stars for equipment choice/quality 2 stars for overcrowding/parking/salesy vibes from personal trainers. 3.5-4 overall. Oh - I’d invest in noise canceling headphones. The music is so loud in here, I can hear it through normal airpods. Not fun! Recommendations: build a parking garage. limit the number of guests at a time (or build another crunch nearby to help offset the number of people at this location). Also, please get another hack squat machine. But keep looking and feeling cool. And turn down the music slightly please.
