Not a safe place for your kids!! From the outside this looks like a great program, until you get to know the owner. He gaslights children and adults alike. The kids in the program are taught to speak up for themselves yet when they are injured - (verified by a doctor) and try to speak up he doesn't listen and tells them it is an excuse. He also delights in telling parents how he knows what is good for the kids better than the parents themselves. The other instructors cannot cross him or speak when he is in the room. He takes no responsibility for his actions when confronted. This not a safe place for kids!
I am genuinely impressed by the comprehensive approach at Arnold’s Martial Arts. My 10-year-old daughter—who historically struggled to sustain interest in extracurricular activities—has shown remarkable engagement since joining the program. Her intrinsic motivation has shifted from passive screen-based interests - Minecraft - to active participation; she now independently practices her forms and techniques in the evenings, reflecting genuine enthusiasm and self-discipline. What impresses me most is that the program goes far beyond physical skills. The instructors emphasize respect, discipline, and responsibility, weaving character development into every class. It’s rare to find a place that builds both confidence and kindness in equal measure.
My son went into this school bullied, not confident and not mindful of his actions. Arnold's has helped mold him into something and someone brand new. They took this quiet and shy kid and helped him to come out of his shell. His self confidence and respect is beyond amazing. The people he's met and places he's been are going to be life altering memories. So beyond thankful to the Arnold's family for everything they do on and off the mat.
Hands down the best martial arts school around!!! My girl has been in it for 1 year now, and I don’t usually do reviews but I waited 1 year to make one and believe me this school has really helped changed and developed my 6 year old into a confident, strong, self-assured person! I like the fact that there are women instructors (Master Arnold’s Daughters) that teach the class, cause it’s so nice to have women represent and is a good role model for my daughters. These classes are excellent for children, especially in their development, building their character, learning respect for others & themselves & it’s really fun! My daughter has gone to Nationals, is now a red belt & has fought in tournaments. These skills are essential, learning to defend themselves, learning to protect themselves from “bad guys” & learning to fight if it was ever truly necessary. These skills can be carried on throughout their life. If you are wondering if you should bring your child, especially a daughter, I would highly recommend enrolling them, you will definitely start to see them become a more developed, respected & strong person! & you won’t regret it! We will be enrolling my other 4 year old daughter soon too!
This is, hands down, the best place to learn martial arts in North Texas! They have great programs for both kids and adults, whether you’re a beginner or well into your martial arts journey, Rick Arnold and his instructors will instruct you and/or your kids in a positive, non-judgemental, uplifting way. If you want to know what it feels like to feel good about your martial arts journey, no matter what stage you are in, Arnold’s is the place to go!!
