I have been training here for almost 15 years and have been involved in martial arts for over 30 years. I’ve met countless martial artists, both students and instructors, and the people here at HMC are some the nicest I’ve come in contact with. But their niceness should not be mistaken for weakness, because they are tough! If you want martial arts training that is respectful, technical and challenging, drop by HMC Academy.

HMC Jiujitsu is a great place to train and learn! The black belt instructor RK is very knowledgeable and makes training fun! If you’re looking to get into shape in a friendly environment, all while learning some top level grappling, look no further!

I've been training at HMC for about a year now, everyone has been super friendly and helpful. Since I started training I've lost about 25 pounds and that's from jiu jitsu alone. RK the coach is very knowledgeable and patient, he will go over positions with me when I have questions. If you're in the area, come down and train!

I've been training at HMC Jiu Jitsu since 2014. You would be hard pressed to find a more welcoming environment filled with serious jiu jitsu students in Hawaii. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and will go out of the way to help new students with technique and drills. The instructor, RK Castillo, is a great and patient teacher who has a great breadth of jiu jitsu knowledge. HMC offers gi classes M W F and nogi classes Tu Th. All classes start at 4:30 p.m. HMC is great for students looking to train for competition or just to learn and get in shape. Come on down and train!

I am currently visiting from the mainland and asked Jiu Jitsu Honolulu if I could train with them for the week (I am getting ready for my first tournament). Nyza was extremely welcoming. His instruction is very precise but he is incredibly patient with me, a newbie. Overall, practicing here has been an awesome experience and I am extremely grateful for the opportunity!
